About

An engineer's approach to data.

I'm Lorenzo Reale, a Power BI consultant with an engineer's approach to data. I trained as an aerospace engineer at the Politecnico di Milano, then spent six years in London moving into enterprise data and analytics, building reporting that operational teams and leadership could rely on. I now work independently with organisations across the EU and UK, bringing that same rigour to Power BI: models that hold their logic, numbers that reconcile, and reporting built to last.

Approach

Good reporting starts long before the dashboard.

Most reporting problems aren't reporting problems. When operational numbers don't reconcile, the cause is usually upstream, in how the data was captured, modelled and moved, long before it ever reached Power BI.

I work with operational data, where the KPIs and the figures leadership acts on have to be defensible, not just presentable. I've built reporting in demanding, high-stakes environments, so I start at the data layer, not the chart.

That means semantic models that hold their logic, DAX you can audit, and a SQL foundation that won't quietly drift. Building the dashboard is the easy part, and the last.

Services

Three layers, one dependable reporting stack.

From the SQL foundation to the dashboard and the automation around it. Taken on as one coherent piece of work, or wherever you need a gap closed.

Have a reporting problem worth getting right?

If you're delivering Power BI in a regulated or operational environment, and the numbers have to stand up to scrutiny, I'd like to hear about it.
